Sr. Chase Gianacakos takes the shot midway through the 1st
half.
St.
Charles North started out the year with their annual black and blue game, which
included Haines Middle School’s 7th and 8th grade teams.
The night began with the 7th and 8th graders, who put on
a show, Tommy Surges and Tyler Nubin were the highlight of the night for the
Hurricane’s, Surges court vision and Nubin’s success inside the paint made the game exciting to watch. Following the
middle school scrimmage, the North Stars Varsity team squared off against
themselves, sound weird? I’m sorry if I forgot to mention that this was a
practice game. North
Black emerged victorious 29-16 against the North White on Friday, the strength
of Erik Miller, who scored 10 points. Going 4-for-5, Miller had a solid showing
for North Black, making 80% of field goals attempted. Camden Cotter was on the
ball from the field, making 80% (4-for-5) of shots attempted. Alec Goetz
notched three three-pointers and scored nine points total. Also sinking shots
for North Black were Jake Ludwig (5 points), David Pozna (3), Chase Gianacakos
(2) and Jack Callaghan (2). Points for the North White were also put up by
Tyler DeMoss (3 points), Nathan Didier (3) and Brad Dawrant (2). In other words
coach Tom Poulin is going to have an incredible year.
