St. Charles North, Downs Crosstown Rival East, In A 68-58 Win.

St. Charles-- St. Charles North vs. St. Charles East, is equivalent to a North Carolina vs. Duke game. The intensity and vibe that the fans bring to the gym is unmatched. The whole town of St, Charles takes this rivalry seriously, just like the fans of North Carolina and Duke. Both teams would put on a show on Saturday night, but St. Charles North would come away with the win.

 The North Stars held on to their first quarter lead to beat St. Charles East 68-58 on Saturday.

The North Stars scored early, claiming a 27-21 lead at the half. The North Stars cemented their lead in the final quarter, scoring 27 points. Racking up 24 fouls in total, St. Charles East played a physical game.

Alec Goetz had a great game from the field, making 62% (5-for-8) of shots attempted as well as 100% (3-for-3) of threes attempted. He also shot well from the line, making 57% (8-for-14) of free throws attempted.

Dom Adduci had the edge for St. Charles East 's offense, scoring 21 points, including 13 during the third quarter. A.J. Washington also had a great night for the Saints, scoring scoring 14 points and racking up 9 boards.

Johnny Davern notched two three-pointers and scored nine points total. Also sinking shots for the North Stars were Jake Ludwig (9 points), Camden Cotter (6), Jack Callaghan (5), Garret Johnson (4) and Tyler DeMoss (2).

Also putting points on the board for St. Charles East were James McQuillan (5 points), Jake Clodi (5) and Zachary Manibog (3).

After the game St. Charles North's head coach Tom Poulin, had this to say, “I don’t have a problem with it being physical this year,” St. Charles North coach Tom Poulin said. “We’ve got some horses.“It was a phyiscal game but I thought the officials did a good job of enforcing the new rules but letting us play a little bit.”
