St. Charles North Runs Over Batavia


The North Stars finally snapped there 2 game losing streak, with a win over Batavia on Friday night. Alec Goetz had 18 points and Jack Callaghan had 13 points and accounted for 12 rebounds.

St. Charles North (6-3,3-1) led the entire game, starting the game on a 10-2 run and from that point, the Stars never looked back. North Stars senior guard Alec Goetz was the star through the first half of play, scoring 10 points.

St. Charles North really took control of the game in the 3rd quarter, outscoring Batavia 22-13 to take their biggest lead of the game with the score at 53-29. The key player in the 3rd was Jack Callaghan who had 9 pts. including a 3 pointer.

St. Charles North head coach Tom Poulin had this to say after the game, "We got back to the way we were playing at the Thanksgiving tournament," " I thought we did a lot of things well and it all starts with playing as a team. That is something we got away from the last couple games. But tonight I thought we did a much better job of sharing the ball on the offensive end and helping each other out on the defensive end."

The top "Dogs" for Batavia on Friday night were Chazen Peez and Micah Coffey both had 15 points in the 70-49 lost to St. Charles North.

Batavia's head coach Jim Nazos had this to say, "We struggled offensively" he also added "Hand it to North. They played well and did a good job of keeping us out of rhythm. We couldn't get the balance we needed inside and outside."
