North Stars Take Down The Purple Raiders

It was a back-and-forth affair, but the St. Charles North Stars defeated Bloomington 73-69 on Thursday in the first round match up in the 83rd Annual Pontiac Holiday Tournament. On a free throw from Jack Callaghan, the St. Charles North Stars clinched their win in the fourth quarter.

Bloomington notched points early in the game, claiming a 35-34 lead at the half, but failed to cash in with a win. Even though Bloomington added 22 points in the final quarter, it wasn't enough to overcome their opponent. Bloomington played an aggressive game, racking up 23 fouls during play. Both teams were relentless on the court, with Bloomington racking up 23 fouls while the St. Charles North Stars picked up 21. With a total of 21 fouls, the St. Charles North Stars was on the attack over the course of the game.

Jake Ludwig led the charge for the St. Charles North Stars's offense, scoring 21 points, with eight points during the fourth quarter.

Antonio Sims maintained a blistering pace for Bloomington, scoring 17 points in the first quarter.

Points for the St. Charles North Stars were also put up by Callaghan (10 points), Camden Cotter (6), Chase Gianacakos (4), Tyler DeMoss (3) and David Pozna (2).

Also scoring for Bloomington were Jake Romani (8 points), Jaylen Beasley (8), Deion Thompson (7) and Theo Edins (3)
