Senior Erik Miller goes up for the shot

Despite a valiant effort, St. Charles North (3-1) came out on the losing end of a 58-49 decision at the hands of state-ranked St. Joseph (4-0) during Saturday's championship game of the 55th annual Ron Johnson Thanksgiving Tournament at St. Charles East.

At the end of the night Saturday, St. Joseph junior Jordan Ash stood at mid-court with a trophy in each hand. Only one really seemed to matter to him. In his right hand he held the championship trophy of the St. Charles East Ron Johnson Thanksgiving Tournament and in his left hand was the MVP trophy.

Putting up a 29-22 lead at the half, St. Joesph scored points early in the game.
Notching seven points in the first period, Glynn Watson wasted no time sinking shots for St. Joesph . Jake Ludwig was the leader of the North Stars's offense with 28 points, including 11 during the fourth period. Also putting points on the board for St. Joesph were Lavon Thomas (6 points), Joffery Brown (6) and Jon Johnson (4). Also racking up points for the North Stars were Alec Goetz (7 points), Erik Miller (6), Garret Johnson (4), Johnny Davern (2) and Jack Callaghan (2).
